How do I set up self-service viewings?

These are the steps for setting up smart access at a unit with an IglooHome smart keybox.

Step 1. Prepare the keybox
Step 3. Hang the lock from an appropriate location
Step 4. Make time windows available

Step 1. Prepare the keybox

Each keybox comes with two shackles. If your unit has a round doorknob, you'll need the slim shackle. If your unit has a door handle, you'll only need the thicker shackle. You want it to be impossible for the keybox to be removed by an unauthorized person.

Step 2. Put a set of keys inside

Open the keybox using your access code. With the keybox open, remove the shackle by sliding the silver shackle release pin to the right.

Hold the keybox under your doorknob and then lock the shackle back on.

Place your keys inside the keybox and then close it.

Step 3. Hang the box in an appropriate location

Hang the keybox on the front door of the actual apartment or house if you can. It should look like this:

If you're setting the lock up at a building with many units and the only way to get into the building itself is with a physical key then you'll need to set up your keybox outside. Find a permanent structure as close to the building front door as possible and make sure it isn't anyone else's property.

Step 4. Take a photo of your lock's location

So that users can easily spot the lock, take a photo that clearly shows its location in relation to other things on the street.

Step 4. Open up showing time windows for the unit

Choose time windows when the unit will be vacant. If there's no current occupant, we strongly suggest making the entire day available. If someone is still living there, open up only the times of the day when they have agreed to be out of the house.

Time windows will recur every week unless you delete them

Step 5. Add access instructions for renters

Leave a note about how a viewer should start their tour. Imagine you are approaching the property for the first time and clarify anything that would be confusing for you. Most importantly, if you're using a smart keybox explain where the keybox is setup and add at least one photo.
