How do I set up self-service viewings?

If you list your unit so that it can be viewed publicly then the only way for an interested to renter to view the space is by using the scheduling functionality. Once you've set up your smart lock, choose time windows on your calendar that will be made available to prospective renters. Renters will be able to choose from one of your pre-selected time windows, and cancel and reschedule their viewing as needed.

Where do I find my viewings settings?

Go to your units overview page and choose the unit that needs to be setup for viewings.

In the dashboard for your unit, scroll down to the viewings calendar and click the button that says "manage viewing settings"


Add access instructions

Leave a note about how a viewer should start their tour. Imagine you are approaching the property for the first time and clarify anything that would be confusing for you. Most importantly, if you're using a smart keybox explain where the keybox is setup and add at least one photo.

Choose time windows when the unit will be vacant. If there's no current occupant, we strongly suggest making the entire day available. If someone is still living there, open up only the times of the day when they have agreed to be out of the house.

Other things to know about viewings

  • Confirmed viewers use the Caretaker viewings SMS hotline to get support during or ahead of their viewing. Our team will assist them in any way that we can. If we discover that they have been unable to find a keybox because it's no longer there or because your access instructions aren't clear, we will unlist the unit until you have been able to address the issue.

  • We keep you up-to-date about your viewings activity. You'll receive an email notification as soon as someone schedules a viewing and if they cancel.

Ways that we are improving viewings

We are working to improve the showing and viewing experience as quickly as we can. Below are improvements that have already been requested and our on our roadmap:

  • Let you connect your Caretaker viewings calendar with other calendars so they all sync at once

  • Let you choose the same times for all units instead of having to edit your calendar for each unit individually
