Order Smart Locks

Learn how to place orders for smart devices

Caretaker only works with pre-certified smart locks. This ensures that each lock can be controlled by our software and that it meets our functional criteria. Purchase locks directly from Caretaker so they're already loaded with the correct access control permissions.

To get started, navigate to the Unit Overview page for each unit that needs to be set up.

What to buy

Starting with a keybox is a low-cost, low-commitment way to try out self tours, or smart access in general, at your property. See planning an installation for detailed guidance on which type of lock best suits your property type and market.

Smart device fulfillment

All smart device orders ship directly from Caretaker's fulfillment center within 48 hours of your order. You will receive a notification when your device has shipped and when it has arrived.

Devices can be shipped to any address you choose. They should be sent directly to the person in charge of installing the locks.

Tracking, canceling, and returning order

After placing an order, check its status in the Dashboard. You will also receive email notifications what the order's status changes:

ShippedLock is on the way
DeliveredYour lock has arrived!
Pending setupThe lock isn't set up yet
ActiveThe lock is currently available for self-service access
ReturnedThe item has been returned to Caretaker and the return has been processed

The order tracking information will become available after is has been marked as Shipped.

To return a device, use the prepaid and prelabeled envelope that came with the device. If you lost your envelope Contact Support


Orders will arrive within 2-5 business days via UPS. Orders placed after 4pm Eastern Time will ship the following business day. If you need to expedite your order Contact Support to see if this is possible.

To check the status of your shipment, view all your orders by clicking on the Smart locks tab on the left side of your Caretaker dashboard. It's nested underneath the Access tab.
